So some of you may know that this last week I was at IRBC working in dish room.
And working at camp, Professor God tends to teach you a lot.
On Monday morning, 10:10, I am supposed to be checking in, but I somehow find myself still riding in the van. /Oh, great pickle pies! I'm late!
/By 10:22, I have checked in, and have gotten my shirt and name tag. Now I'm sitting in the chapel hoping I'm in the right place. /
/However, I have forgotten my suitcase in the back of the van! By 3:00 I'm still rather confused as to how things work, but 'm beginning to catch on.
Holly helped me find where I was staying, and I praised the Lord Jared was smart enough to drop my suitcase off by the girl's staff dorm. :)
>Through that, I was taught to plan ahead.
During the rest of the week, I had a load of fun... I named a fuzzy. I laughed for more than an hour.
I bobbed for apples and totally lost (then I almost froze because it wasn't exceptionally warm that day).
I had my first try at a pop machine and had to appeal for help. I got so hyper I could have been considered drunk;
and I momentarily forgot my name and had to look a my name tag to remind myself of it. :)
>Through this, I learned I should _never_ drink more than half a bottle of Mountain Dew.
Then on Thursday the washing machine broke, and we had to wash more than two hundred trays by hand.
(Luckily it happened on the day where we had an extra hour to get things done.) They finally got it fixed by Dinner time, and then it broke again.
They fixed it by breakfast the next day, and then it broke before we even got to the camper's trays.
>Through this God was beginning teaching me patience.
And even in staff those annoyed moods and misunderstandings still popped up toward the end of the week.
>In those times, I learned a corner is a good place to do devotions.
But also, many decisions were made last week. We had around 30 salvations through out the entire week, and one of them was a girl who worked in dish room with me.
There were also at least nine people I know personally who felt called to serve God full time in missions and/or pastoring,
and they all rededicated their lives to Christ last week. I happened to be one of them.
But there was something more then just how much pop to drink that God was trying to teach me throughout the week. And somehow, I consistently felt like balling.
On Friday night I realized it was because God wanted a rededication to Him, not just a vague thought in the back of my head reminding me I'm called to missions.
Through Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, I was challenged with the reasons I felt called to missions in the first place, and I had thought my lesson was learned.
But my struggles didn't start until I got home. Some of you may have noticed my grouchy mood, and I apologize for being unable to explain why I was upset.
But even in the dark spots of life, Professor God knows how to pull on your back pack, and get your attention.
Just a few moments ago when I read Onion's post, I'm pretty sure I got hit in the head with a ruler.
/Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.
- Daniel 12:3/
Some how that reminds me of the Sunday school song I sang in preschool. /
"This little light of mine I'm gonna let it shine!"/ And then later it says /"Don't let Satan 'whoosh' it out! I'm gonna let it shine, let it shine! Let it shine! Let it shine!" /
And I don't know about you, but I want to shine for Jesus. And I don't care what Satan tries to do, because as Christian's we're living for Christ.
Professor God is on our side!
So BRING IT ON!
